New Denver Lantern festival
Join us on January 31st, 2026 and light up the night in celebration.
Imagine, create, parade, dance, eat and warm yourselves by the fire.
Adult and kids categories - 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for best lanterns.
Lantern Competion
Display your lantern and warm by the bonfire.
Once we arrive at the Bosun Hall, there will be an area to park your lantern outside.
The Lantern Competition includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. Prizes for kids too. Grab your registration number at the beginning of the parade at the Kohan Gardens from Spark Volunteers. Make sure you get your vote in at the Bosun Hall.
We will have bonfires by the lantern displays outside the Bosun Hall from 6 pm - 9 pm. Refreshments will be available for purchase. (Cash only please!)
NEW Parade route
Starting time 4:45 pm at the entrance to the Kohan Reflection Garden.
We will parade through the Kohan which will be illuminated with Christmas lights. Continuing around the Pavilion so the residents can see all our beautiful creations. We will walk through the Orchard, across the bridge at Carpenter Creek, down Slocan Avenue and on to Bosun’s Hall for music, dancing, refreshments, a bonfire and celebration.
Delectable food and refreshments will be available from local vendors at the Bosun Hall after the Spark in the Dark Lantern Parade. (Cash only)
